The Camp-Out Mystery

I finished The Boxcar Children, The Camp-Out Mystery, today. I thought I'd share this book with you.
This is a drawing of a note in the book. I can't tell you a lot about it because you are going to have to read it for yourself, but a man put it there!

This is a drawing of a man's archery set up. It is just a hay bale on top of a wheelbarrow with a tablet of paper for the target.

The Camp-Out Mystery
The Boxcar Children #27

The Boxcar Children went camping. During their time they didn't know what to do. They saw strange lights, heard loud music and people stole their food. The children had to try and figure out what was happening. They are very used to mysteries because they used to live in a boxcar.

The Boxcar Children's names are Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny. They are all different ages. Benny is eight, I'm pretty sure Violet is fifteen, Jessie is ten and Henry is sixteen.

Finally they figured out the mystery. The mystery was that a very nice man was stealing all their food because he didn't have a lot of food. He also was greedy a little. He was also kind when he helped their grandfather when he got hurt.
Let me know if you want to borrow the book. It is very old, but you can still read it. Or you could get it from your local library.

Hurry! Recipes please!

Just in case you can not read the letter above, this is what it says! :) "I am collecting recipes to make a recipe book. For presentation night at Young Explorers I will have a stand. At the stand I will give away the recipe books and free food samples.

Will you please give me two of your favorite recipes?

Thank you,

Karter"

You can either give the recipes to me, send them to me through the postal mail or e-mail them to my mom. Thank you!

Midnight

In December we found a cat scratching and meowing at our door. The cat began to get used to us and after a while we were able to pet it and feed it.

When it is really cold outside we bring him in for the night. But lately he hasn't been wanting to go inside in the basement. He only wants to come in for a minute to eat. We just started to be able to put out our hand and he eats out of our hand. We named him Midnight because he is so black like it is in the middle of the night. You can look in the picture to see that he is so black. That is why we named him midnight. It was my idea. Just recently Grandpa Shirkey and I made cat houses to keep Midnight warm. We actually made two cat houses because we started to see another cat in our yard. He hasn't wanted to get close to us yet but he looks like he has had a very hard life. We named him Scaredy Cat because he is so scared of us.

Basketball Season

Did you know I am going to play basketball? Grandpa Shirkey is going to sign up to coach my team. I still have a few more things to learn. And I need to practice a few things before basketball season starts. The dates of basketball are January 23rd, 30th, February 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th. If you would like to come, the games are either at 5:30 or 6:30pm.

See you at the basketball games! Bye.

It's time for jokesters

1. What did the martian say to the rose bush?

2. What did the left eye say to the right eye?

Post a comment if you think you know the answer!

Soccer Game

I just started soccer this fall. We have two more games left. We are undefeated. Today it is raining. We do not know if we can play yet or not. The people on my team are Nathan, Rachel, Ellie, Mahayla, Ethan, Kenadee, Connor, Karter (ME), Nathan, Annah and Nick. Our coach, I know him, is Mr. Blumenstock. The assistant coach is Mr. Eads. It is really fun and I think I like it better than the YMCA soccer program. See ya!
